This was part of a project where I created a pin design for the risograph printer. I created a loose interpretation of a ‘biblically accurate’ angel with text that says, ‘I killed God, it was worth it.’ In some biblical interpretations, angels are beyond the human boundaries and roles of sex and gender, which is an idea that I personally relate to. This emblem is representative of my complex relationship my Christian faith, and my gender identity. I also really care about the public domain and creative commons as a graphic design and fan of old media. I incorporated this into my design by using a few public domain images. The teeth, however, are under a creative commons license, and were photographed by Marco d’Itri under CC BY-SA 2.0.
The risograph printer really made this design pop in my opinion. However, it was my first time seriously using the machine for a project. For some reason, the registration was particularly chaotic for this design and I only got a few good versions. Luckily, even the more ‘off’ registrations still look pretty cool.
