The LEGO Identity project was focused on creating an accordion style marketing piece that communicated the brands core philosophy, aesthetic sensibilities, demographic, and main products/services, without using text or the brands main logotype.
I chose the LEGO brand for this project because their distinct products and color pallet could be easily communicated even without the use of words. Rather than using photos of LEGOs themselves, I created various abstract representations of products. I tried to span the full array of age groups that LEGO products cater to, using each frame focus on a unique product/age group. I also based the colors on the limited palette used by the physical bricks themselves. In order to maintain brand clarity, I avoided using any products that were promotional or included non-LEGO intellectual properties. The result is a unique but legible representation of the diverse LEGO brand.
